Hamlet 2 is a 2008 comedy movie starring Steve Coogan, Catherine Keener, Amy Poehler, David Arquette and - in a smaller role - Elisabeth Shue. It will be released in a wider press on August 29.
Hamlet 2 is the tale of a high school drama department that, due to a lack of funding and interest, is set to close down. Failed actor turned teacher Dana Marschz, however, wants to save things - or at least go out with a bang - by starring in something worth seeing: a politically incorrect sequel to the William Shakespeare classic Hamlet. Thus Hamlet 2, a musical that does pretty much everything wrong, is born.
Where does Shue come in? Why, as Elisabeth Shue, of course. Given that the movie focuses on an actor it’s hard to imagine that another actor - areal one this time - would step in. What role she plays in the action, however, is left for you to see by watching the movie.
